Job summary

Assessment of children and young people alongside their families and other professionals involved to identify the best support for them in a time of mental health difficulty. Working with partner agencies to identify external support as well as internal CAMHS pathways.

Main duties of the job

Join us at an exciting time for the Durham and Darlington CAMHS teams! Our service is undergoing dynamic and exciting service changes in order to improve access for children and young people to CAMHS. The service also aspires to promote patient centred and needs led journeys through the CAMHS service and is looking for professionals to join us to make this a positive experience. Durham & Darlington Single Point of Access (SPA) CAMHS are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated CAMHS Clinicians to work as part of a fast paced, highly acclaimed multi-disciplinary team. We provide evidence based assessments and access to pathways for children & young people.

You will join the service at a time where a real difference can be made to children and young people's lives. You will be expected to have the necessary skills and experience to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments with children and families. Candidates should be skilled professionals with excellent interdisciplinary working skills and interested in contributing to the development of an innovative service.

About us

We are a busy multi-disciplinary team of 22 clinical staff supported by a great admin team. We cover the whole of County Durham and Darlington but our hub is within the grounds of Darlington memorial hospital.

We cover a 7 day service 8am-6pm which means there is lots of flexibility within the role for various working patterns.
