Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, and creative Higher Assistant Psychologist to join the Ripon Integrated Community Team, based at Windsor House in Harrogate.

Experience of working with adults of working age with mental health difficulties is essential for this post. Experience of developing and co-delivering therapeutic groups and 1:1 interventions is required as this will form part of the assistant psychologist role. Co-delivering training to staff will also form part of the role and so strong presentation skills and an ability to engage the target audience is required. We are particularly looking for an individual who is committed to working in a trauma informed way and who can work collaboratively with other disciplines in order to support recovery. You must be motivated, possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be expected to have involvement in delivery of psychological assessments and interventions for clients with mental health conditions. A compassionate and committed approach is essential . The successful candidate will also be expected to support colleagues, such as Assistant Psychologists, through training and clinical/administrative support.

Essential

  • Degree in psychology.
  • Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

  • Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, youth work, work with offenders and/or research design and analysis

Experience
