Job summary

This post is for the rehab and recovery inpatient ward.

The ward admits patients from the North Yorks and York.

It is to provide psychological therapies to the patients on the inpatient ward.

The psychologist leads on the formulations of strengths and needs form a rehab and recovery perspective.

Main duties of the job

Accountable for own professional practice in the delivery of highly specialist psychological care to clients with highly complex mental health conditions or learning disabilities which may include challenging behaviours.2.2To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families.2.3To provide clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.2.4To undertake formal research as an integral part of the job and act as field supervisor to doctorate trainees.2.5To be proactive in continual service improvement within own area.2.6To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities.2.7To promote at all times a positive image of the service and the wider Trust.
