We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic full time Band 8b Principle Applied Psychologist to provide a psychology service within the North Yorkshire and York CAMHS Crisis Teamwhich covers the largest locality in TEWV Foundation Trust and is now a 24/7 provision. The post will involve working with our Clinical Staff in the CAMHS Crisis Team currently made up of Nurses, Social worker/s, and HCA's. We provide Crisis, Liaison and Intensive Home treatment services to children, young people and their families who present in crisis with Mental Health needs. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to develop this post given it is a new position within the team. You will be providing highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and time limited interventions to young people and their families experiencing a wide range of difficulties in crisis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support to the team in their assessments and formulations of complex cases, supporting them in providing risk assessments, safety planning and crisis intervention to young people in the North Yorkshire and York locality that present in crisis. Knowledge and training in DBT and the Mental Health Act are desirable skills. The post holder will hold a key role in the team providing psychological safety, clinical leadership to the CAMHS crisis service as well as contributing to MDT discussions and service development. This will be alongside the Clinical Team Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist. The post holder will act as a point of contact for the wider CAMHS community services. They will provide clinical supervision, advice, consultation and training to the team, and will play a key role in continuing to develop the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working of the team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, prepared to travel between all the CAMHS Crisis bases within the locality, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent mental health care and evidence- based interventions. The post- holder will work Monday-Friday 9-5, however due to the nature of the team there can be flexibility with working patterns to accommodate individual and service needs. The successful candidate will be under the support and guidance of the Consultant Psychologist in the wider NYY CAMHS service.

The post holder will receive regular supportive supervision and work closely with psychology colleagues based within the wider CYPS within North Yorkshire and York Locality as well as Psychology colleagues embedded in local Adult Crisis teams.
Training and service developmental opportunities would be available for the post holder in order to further develop specialist skills and interests, and research opportunities would be encouraged. There are opportunities for innovation and leadership as we look to continually improve and develop our services.
