Job summary

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen, for the post of Crisis Clinician within the Teesside Crisis Intensive Home Treatment Service .

The focus of the team is to provide an alternative to in-patient care, focusing on people experiencing severe mental health difficulties that should be treated in the least restrictive environment with the minimum of disruption to their lives.

Main duties of the job

The team will work with medical colleagues in the assessment of existing clients and new referrals presenting in crisis to provide short-term intervention as an alternative to in-patient care.

The team will liaise closely with community services, in-patient care and other locality based services as well as all relevant non statutory agencies to ensure a seamless provision of care.

Essential

  • RNMH, current professional registration with NMC or Social Worker, current professional registration with HCPC.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education
  • Clinical Supervisor
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent

Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience working with people with mental ill health in a community setting
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
