Job summary

We have a new opportunity for a Higher assistant psychologist to join the South Durham CAMHS team, to contribute to the development of the delivery processes in relation to CQUIN.

This role is an exciting opportunity to both take on a role within the CQUIN project but also to deliver some direct clinical work within a community child and adolescent mental health team.

Psychologists & Psychological Therapists provide key leadership roles within the Trust. Main duties of the job

This role will involve supporting the psychology team in the development and delivery of the CQUIN project in regards to paired routine outcome measures.

Within this post you will be able to work with the psychology team to deliver direct intervention with children and young people.

The service is currently in the process of working on the development of therapeutic groups which will enable the successful applicant to work both therapeutically and to contribute to the evaluation of the groups.

Essential

  • Degree in psychology.
  • Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, youth work, work with offenders and/or research design and analysis

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working as a psychology assistant (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with people with mental ill health
  • Previous involvement in clinical audit, research or service evaluation.
  • Experience of using psychometric assessments.

Skills

  • Ability to relate therapeutically to the needs of clients and in a way that addresses psychological resistance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with members of the MDT to provide an effective service.
