Job summary

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner to join the Community CAMHS Team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and professional multi-disciplinary team, and work to develop their skills in delivering high quality evidence based assessments and interventions to our patient group, including children and young people experiencing a range of Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental conditions, while providing compassionate and effective support to their families.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the mental health difficulties experienced by children and young people, and have an understanding of and experience of delivering the therapies and other interventions used in treatment.

The successful applicant will be involved in continuous service development, and will work closely with external and internal agencies to review, improve, and deliver services to the community. There is also a requirement to maintain high standards of personal and professional development, and the successful applicant will be expected to train in a specialist modality of therapeutic intervention if not already qualified.

The post holder will be qualified as a NMC Registered Nurse from either the Mental Health, Children's, or Learning Disability specialisms, or be qualified as an Occupational Therapist or Social Worker registered in the United Kingdom, with either the HCPC or Social Work England.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the MDT.

To offer assessments to children and young people.

To offer interventions to support children young people and their families.

To act as duty worker twice a month.

To support the team.

Essential

  • Current professional registration with the NMC / HCPC / SCE
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Leadership / Management experience
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)

  • Provide leadership and monitor, co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of a team.
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and undertake lead professional / care co-ordinator responsibilities
