Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Yorkshire and York Perinatal Team. We are a specialist service that strives to deliver excellent standards of care to expectant and new mothers of all ages with severe and complex mental health problems. We are one team with two cells; one covering the Northallerton and Harrogate area and the other covering the York and Scarborough area. We have 2 full time equivalent posts available, 1.4 for Northallerton/Harrogate and 0.6 in York

We are looking for a highly motivated mental health nurse with some experience in perinatal mental health and further specialist training will be provided to the successful candidates. The post holders must be able to work flexibly and independently within a challenging environment.

The post holder will have experience of assessment and managing risk of service users within the community. They will also have knowledge of psychological interventions and models such as CBT, DBT etc. The post holder must have excellent communication skills with a detailed knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake comprehensive assessments, including risk assessment, and deliver psychologically informed interventions. They will manage a caseload of service users as a care coordinator and provide perinatal specific support to service users already under the care of other community teams . They will participate in a duty rota, responding to enquiries and urgent clinical matters arising across the North Yorkshire and York locality. Being a car driver with access to a car is essential.
