Job summary
Getting it right for vulnerable children and families: A 'Partners in Practice' innovation in Middlesbrough. Delivering a revolution in Children's Social Care.
'No Wrong Door' is a nationally recognised innovative programme working with complex adolescents at risk of becoming looked after and also where poor outcomes are likely. We are seeking to recruit an experienced Psychologist who is passionate about delivering embedded services for young people and young adults who have significant needs.
Although this post is advertised as an 8a post, we are willing to consider applications from Psychologists who do not yet meet the essential criteria for a Band 8a, but who would be interested in undertaking the post at a Band 7 with a supportive plan in place to aid development.
Main duties of the job
We require an Applied Psychologist (locally known as a 'Life Coach' within the model) to work within the residential hub based in Middlesbrough for a 12 month post covering maternity leave. The individual would be required to bring tenacity and excellent multi-agency working skills to join an existing specialist multi-agency service including Speech and Language Therapists, Police and Residential workers. They will work directly with young people who present with complex needs and risks, and provide consultation and support to residential workers and other Futures for Families staff to enable a psychologically informed approach and promote trauma informed care.
About us
The post holder will receive regular supportive supervision and have opportunity to link in with the wider psychology team within Teesside CAMHS. There is a strong psychology network across TEWV, as well as within the CAMHS directorate, and there are good links with our local DClinPsy & DCounsPsy courses, providing trainee placements and teaching.
