Job summary

We are excited to offer a Band 7 Clinical Lead post in the York and Selby Single Point of Access Team.

The Single Point of Access Team receives all the new referrals into CAMHS and offers initial telephone assessments to young people and their families. The team assess whether an initial assessment within the generic CAMHS team is indicated and they also offer signposting support and advice. The team always assess risk and complete safety summaries .

The successful candidate will offer support and supervision to SPA staff, as well as education and consultation to partner agencies. They will support the team with more complex clinical and urgent referrals and will do calls with young people and families as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

We are keen to recruit an experienced clinician for the role of Clinical Lead within York and Selby SPA.

The successful candidate will work alongside the team manager to further develop and implement processes within the Single Point of Access Team

They will attend Senior Leadership meetings in the absence of the Team Manager

Offer consultation and education to partner agencies

Ensure that referrals for young people are supported by, and directed to, the right services at the right time for their needs.

The successful candidate will support clinicians within the team with complex clinical cases and liaise with young people and families as appropriate

We are seeking someone who will:

  • Be passionate about improving the access to mental health services and ensuring young people and their families are directed to the most suitable service for their needs
  • Be a driven, enthusiastic and forward thinking leader.
  • Have a clear interest in the development of the clinical skills of the staff of our CAMHS SPA service
  • Have extensive experience working in CAMHS services.
  • Have significant experience of working with clinicians to achieve service improvement.
  • Have a range of experience of leading projects or other clinically based initiatives which will have made a contribution to delivering innovative and high quality services to children and young people.
  • Hold a relevant Professional Registration (RMN, SW, OT )
