3 X POSTS FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING PRACTITIONERS based at North Moor House, Northallerton.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified, highly motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to work as part of the CAMHS North Yorkshire Single Point of Access Team working with children, adolescents an their adult families. The successful post holders will be joining the Team's triage and telephone assessment service, with the option of offering low intensity treatment support, either remotely or face to face, if this is clinically indicated.
We have a 3 positions available, working into our teams that are based within Northallerton, Harrogate and Scarborough CAMHS. The positions are full time, Monday to Friday 9-5, though less hours will also be considered.
Applicants should hold an IAPT qualification in Low Intensity interventions namely Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions (PWP) . You will need to have experience of working with people with mental health problems along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are required to use your own initiative and work independently, as there may be some home working as well as your office base, whilst also being supported by a friendly team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be expected to provide screening/triage, and where appropriate assessment, for individuals at the first point of contact into CAMHS. Our team receives all the new referrals sent into service, so you are likely to be the first person from CAMHS that the family will speak to. You will be expected to undertake an initial triage assessment, making an accurate assessment of risk to self and others, escalating high and immediate risk to senior clinicians as required. As the service receives a wide variety of calls, with varying degrees of risk and mental health presentations, the post holder will be expected to offer signposting information to appropriate services and to facilitate referral to specialist services where appropriate. The post holder will offer Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, where appropriate and safe to do so, and so must have significant experience working within psychological models providing a range of information and support via evidence based low-intensity psychological treatments.
