Job summary

This post is being advertised to address a temporary need for 10 months however the Trust has made the commitment to offer Registered Nurses a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered (this does not apply to other registered professions). Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.

An opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Registered Health Professional (Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist) to join the MSNAP accredited Harrogate Memory Service. The area we cover includes Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Weatherby, Boroughbridge and surrounding villages.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be working with a caseload of service users, carrying out post diagnostic support, follow treatment plans and interventions supported by the dementia care pathway.

About us

The team consists of a number of professional groups working together to ensure the delivery of quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment for those with concerns of memory problems. We have a very supportive team who will be able to support either a newly qualified or experienced practitioner into this fixed term maternity cover post.

  • Current professional registration with an approved professional body.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area

Knowledge

  • Evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
