Job summary

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to join the Integrated Support Unit (ISU) within HMP Durham. The unit is an 11 bedded inpatient unit housing men from across the regional prisons with moderate to severe mental illness.

Main duties of the job

The team is made up a compliment of multidisciplinary professionals and successful candidates will need to have strong team working principles. You will work in collaboration with a variety partner agencies both internal and external to the prison.

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

  • Significant experience working with people with mental ill health in a community setting
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake care co-ordinator responsibilities
