Job summary

We are delighted to be recruiting to these new Applied Psychology posts within the North Yorkshire and York Perinatal Community Mental Health Team. The post will allow the successful candidates the opportunity of working in a compassionate, trauma informed multi-disciplinary teamwith women accessing secondary mental health services during pregnancy/in the first year after they have had their baby.We aim to provide a service which holds the parent, infant and the parent infant relationship in mind.

0.8 FTE Northallerton, Harrogate and Richmond (and surrounding areas)

1.0 FTE York, Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale (and surrounding areas).

Main duties of the job

Working alongside our Highly Specialist Applied Psychologists, the successful candidates will complete service and psychology assessments, contribute to formulation and care planning and deliver psychological therapy including group work.There may also be opportunities for audit andservice evaluations. You will have access to CPD within the specialty.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. You will also be able to demonstrate emotional resilience and a capacity to maintain a compassionate approach even in stressful situations. Knowledge of child development, infant mental health and attachment theory is desirable. Experience of delivering compassion focused and emotion regulation interventions is desirable.

The team is split into two cells covering Northallerton, Harrogate and Richmond (and surrounding areas) and York, Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale (and surrounding areas). There is one post available in each cell. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
