Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered Nurses to work with adults with our rehabilitation ward for adults who have learning disabilities and associated offender health needs within the Durham area.

Main duties of the job

The post requires the successful candidates to work flexibly within the inpatient unit within a highly skilled and committed multi-disciplinary team.You will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of issues relating to Transforming Care Agenda, risk assessment, Positive behavior support, autism, trauma informed care and physical and mental well-being.

The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with patients carer's and wider MDT to support the patients journey to successful transition to community living.You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach.

  • RNLD, professional registration with NMC
  • evidence of continuing development
  • MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 teaching & assessing in clinical practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in a relevant area

Experience

Essential

  • Working in an inpatient environment
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
