An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Senior Community Mental Health Practitioner to work in Whitby and Ryedale Integrated Community Team.

Are you an experienced Mental health nurse, Occupational therapist or Social worker looking for a new opportunity? We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Mental Health Professional to join our busy but friendly team.

This is an excellent and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to become involved in the development of a proactive and forward thinking team. You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team and be offered opportunities to develop and enhance your existing clinical skills. You will receive regular supervision and support from the leadership team. The service currently operates Monday - Friday 9-5pm and consideration will be given to flexible working requests.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the team you will provide a service to those individuals who present with mental health issues, with an emphasis on psychologically informed brief interventions.

You must be willing to work collaboratively with service users of varying ages and differing needs as well as their carers and families .

You will need to have significant experience of working with people with mental ill health in a care setting, delivering clinical interventions specific to care pathways.

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are required to have the ability and experience to manage complex cases in partnership with other agencies providing care coordination in line with CPA. In addition you will further develop skills in psychological therapies, psychosocial interventions and care management.

You will encourage ongoing engagement from all staff utilising effective leadership skills. You are required to use your own initiative and make decisions independently for this post.

There is an expectation of commitment to the development of high quality care, and to engage in quality improvement activities. You will be supported with regular management and clinical supervision.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
