Job summary
The Durham and Darlington CAMHS Service are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced professional to lead on the Pre-School SCAT assessments.
The coordinator role is part of the wider Pre-School SCAT pathway which sees CAMHS working in partnership with peadiatricians and speech and language therapists to provide autism assessments for children up to 6 years old.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a high standard of clinical leadership to the team as well as the multi-agency team. The post holder will ensure clinical standards are maintained in the delivery of care across all aspects of the service.
The post holder will need excellent communication skills to lead and deliver on ongoing service development. Communicate with other stakeholders and share join decision making.
The post holder will need to be skilled in the assessment of children with the ability to differentiate other potential factors such as attachment.
To apply for this role you will have a detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice. The ability to make balanced decisions and use positive risk taking approaches, whilst managing potentially high pressure situations is an essential part of this role. Providing specialist knowledge and support to the team and wider multi-agency colleagues is also integral. The coordinator will liaise with partnership agencies to coordinate assessments and multi-agency SCAT meetings where diagnostic discussions will be held. Feedback appointments will be held with the parent/carers of the child to discuss the outcome of the diagnostic discussion and any further signposting or referrals.
