Job summary

Are you an experienced Psychologist looking for a rewarding career, where you can make a difference and change lives for the better? If so, you could join the Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Team working across Teesside. You would be joining the team at an exciting time as this is a new post into the team due to additional funding received from the Community Mental Health Transformation programme. As such you will have the opportunity to support the development of this post and the service. You will be key to delivering the objective of increasing the access to psychological interventions for service users accessing the service.

Main duties of the job

Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and ensure that the service users is fully engaged in their care pathway. To support clinical team working, including both direct interventions and the delivery of staff training programmes. To support the clinical team and area of service in developing new initiatives and ways of working. To work with internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.

As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user's caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Post doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees
  • Trained in care co-ordination
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

Essential

  • Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
  • Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care as a care coordinator within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Teaching, training and clinical supervision and field supervisor for doctoral theses
  • Research and development
  • Quality and service improvement and evaluation.

Knowledge
