TEWV NHS Foundation Trust are offering an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic individual to join our Nursing and Governance Directorate as a Medical Device Safety Officer.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in the field of medical devices with a proven track record of leadership and service improvement within this specialist area .
We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge and with the motivation and enthusiasm to make a difference .
Main duties of the job
The co-ordination, development, and medical device management across the Trust, by carrying out; but not limited to assurance audits, collaboratively managing incidents, supporting the development of training programmes and medical devices replacement programmes.
About us
You will work closely with the Head of IPC/Physical Health/Medical Devices to provide a high quality service to our Trust wide clinical teams . The role will also involve collaborative working within the various directorates across the Trust .

Qualifications
Essential
- BSc or HND in a relevant scientific or engineering subject
- Master's degree (or equivalent level combination of post grad study and experience) in medical device or other healthcare technology.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Project management qualification or equivalent level of experience
- Possess suitable qualifications and experience to provide professional advice relating to medical device management, legislation and regulatory compliance

- Significant experience specifically working in a project management capacity in a medical equipment environment
- Experience in operation and function of patient equipment and techniques in healthcare
- Extensive experience in preventative maintenance, servicing inspection, repair, quality control, safety and procurement.
- Experience of undertaking risk assessments on medical devices and have ability to find solutions to minimise risk where appropriate
- Expert technical knowledge in medical equipment technologies
- Evidence of working with nurses, clinicians, and senior management to specify and deliver technology solutions to support care delivery.
- Experience of working with quality management systems e.g. ISO 13485, MHRA
