Job summary

We currently have an opportunity for a Band 8a Highly Skilled Applied Psychologist to join Tees, Esk and Wear Valley's NHS Foundation Trust. The post is permanent (part time - 22.5 hours) within the new Durham and Darlington CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service.

Main duties of the job

The Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service provides assessment to children and young people where a question is raised around whether they may have a neurodevelopmental disorder (including but not limited to Autism/ADHD). We are seeking psychologists with a special interest and clinical experience in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The post holders will contribute to the assessment and diagnostic decision making for school aged young people where there is a query about whether they may have autism and / or attentional difficulties. They will work within a multi-disciplinary team include Applied Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses and Speech and Language Therapists.

Psychologists & Psychological Therapists provide key leadership roles within the Trust. About us

There is a well-established and supportive Psychological Professions Network within the wider Durham and Darlington Children and Young People's Service supported by a highly motivated team of senior managers and clinical leads. Strong links exist between the service and local training courses in clinical psychology, counselling psychology and psychological therapy.
