Job summary

North Durham Community CAMHS team is seeking to appoint committed and enthusiastic Band 7 Applied Psychologists. Applications from Trainee Applied Psychologists in their final year of training would also be welcome. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and friendly CAMHS service, where there is great emphasis on peer support and supervision, as well as encouraging Continuing Professional Development. You will be joining a skilled and experienced multi-disciplinary workforce, comprising psychologists, psychological therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, child psychotherapy and support workers, who all value the contribution of Applied Psychologists. The role is diverse and varied, incorporating opportunities for assessment, formulation, 1-1 and group therapy delivery, care co-ordination, supervision of others, teaching, training and audit/ service evaluation. You will also be joining a supportive and proactive Psychology Professions community within the Durham and Darlington locality, where we all share a fundamental commitment to promoting the mental health and wellbeing of the children and families in our area and delivering the best service possible. Main duties of the job

CYPS service is looking for an experienced and skilled applied psychologist(s) to make a significant contribution to the delivery and development of psychological services within the Durham and Darlington. The post holder will deliver evidence based psychological interventions. They will also have a role in supervision and development of psychological skills within the team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
  • RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification at degree level post 1993 & post graduate training to an accredited level in one of the Trust's Governed Psychological Therapies sufficient to meet the Trust's training standards for that therapy.

Experience

  • Working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems

  • Post-graduate qualification showing evidence of supervised practice in an evidence-based psychological therapeutic model
