Job summary

The post holder will work closely with the BI team to support the Directorate of Planning and Performance, Care Groups and other Corporate teams in meeting all compliance, performance, quality and workforce objectives and standards, including the overall strategic plan, annual business plans and specific ad hoc project(s)/ requests. Supporting the BI team in providing the performance requirements of the Trust contributing to a number of capacity planning initiatives and the analysis, investigation and resolution of complex statistical queries. Responsible for the overall development of appropriate performance management frameworks/ tools/ dashboards and reporting mechanisms, working across the Care Groups to support the delivery of all Trust performance standards ensuring effective service delivery. The post holder will lead on analytical support for both the BI team and across the organisation, ensuring reports are analysed and collated within a structured framework for both internal and external parties whilst supporting the assistant analysts and officer to ensure valid and reliable data.

Main duties of the job

Lead on the monitoring of progress and analysing data against all key performance standards/ indicators. Support and manage the development and production of performance reports.

Oversee responsibility for Sitreps, both internally and externally within required timescales whilst ensuring data is valid and accurate.

Responsible to provide effective support to the performance management agenda and activities, overseeing the development of systems and processes within the Business Intelligence (BI) team, Care Groups and corporate teams.

Responsible for ensuring local and national reporting requirements are met.

Responsible to provide an information analysis and forecast service to assist and support directorates in decision making (Business intelligence).

Working in collaboration across all care groups and corporate services to support the BI agenda developing systems to help inform business intelligence

Utilising new technologies and oversee presentational formats to deliver data/information to end-users i.e. through the deployment and development of tools such as Yellowfin, Trak, Access, Excel, clinical dashboards and other business and performance management tools (list not exhaustive).

Responsible for the development of new data sources, performance systems and other reporting processes, working in conjunction with other members of the organisation (supporting business intelligence) providing training and cross cover as necessary to share knowledge and skills.

To work corporately as part of the Trusts BI function. To ensure compliance with Information Governance Standards particularly in relation to relevant data protection legislation.

Determine baselines for performance standards and identify trends in activity to help service managers influence decision making.

Responsible to address key requirements to ensure effective reporting, creating templates, developing operational reports, and ensuring that the system is embedded in every day operations.

Ensure information/ performance is delivered in a timely manner, facilitating both internal and external reporting requirements.

Actively engage in and to contribute to the development of the BI systems and strategic developments/ agenda.

In conjunction with the management team for care groups work to develop and implement new and innovative efficiency and productivity strategies to maximise the perioperative pathway and support operating theatre efficiency and productivity (service line management) based on a range of options supported by credible information and data.
