Main duties of the job

The appointee will be involved in cross-site working between the University Hospital of Hartlepool and the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton-On-Tees and provide general obstetric and gynaecological services and will be involved in the on-call rota with other colleagues.

The post holder will be required to work with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality well-led service for patients, including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients, in accordance with Trust policies and practices. The post holder will support optimal team performance by promoting an open culture of continuous learning for improvement. The post holder will work with clinical and non-clinical members of the team on service review and innovation to enhance the patient experience. The post holder will participate in departmental teaching and have the opportunity to gain scanning skills.

The current timetable follows a rolling 12-week template as there is an established programme of consultant of the week for obstetrics and for gynaecology which is linked to the on call activity. The weekly timetable for the other weeks have planned clinical activity scheduled on a departmental clinical activity template.
