Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Simulation Technician available within the trusts new Health and Social Care Academy.
The successful candidate will work across sites within both of our Simulation Suites.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Simulation Technician is to provide effective and efficient delivery of technical and administrative support to the simulation faculty.
To co-ordinate the use with the maintenance of all simulation training equipment within the Trust. Simulation equipment is defined as all equipment that simulates a procedure or event. To engage with immerging technologies within the simulation arena such as augmented reality simulations.
The post holder will be expected to work with training faculty across the Trust and regionally to provide simulation training, which will be used to support improvements in the delivery of patient care, by skilling staff in the training environment.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will act as a professional resource for all members of the hospital team and external organisations. This will also include being a key resource of information for all simulation training.
Communicates effectively establishing good working relationships with a wide range staff at all levels, including liaising with external partners and stakeholders to co-ordinate meetings.
The post holder will be expected to engage with the regional simulation technician community and ensure that they engage with the work of the Regional simulation tech champions, attend continuous professional development events relevant to the role to ensure that maintains knowledge and skills is current with the immerging technologies involved in simulation.
Be responsible for managing and prioritising own workload and maintaining accurate training records.
Ability to analyses and interpret a range of clinical and technical information in order to provide technical support during simulation training
Ensure the simulation suite provides a supportive learning environment allowing candidates/students to engage in experiential learning
Responsible for maintaining an up to date asset register of all simulation equipment.
Responsible for maintaining an up to date service and cleaning log of all the simulation equipment.
To facilitate the simulation training programmes in the preparation, setting up of the simulation equipment, the room, computer programming of simulation scenarios and use of hi-tech audio-visual equipment (SMOTS).
To maintain all simulation equipment in a state of readiness, cleanliness and troubleshoot any problems connected with equipment operation including mobile simulation.
