Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to support the Freedom to Speak Up Guardianship (FTSUG) role at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust , the role supports staff to speak up to identify where improvements can be made to services ensuring that staff, patients and relatives receive the service that they deserve from the NHS.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to make a real difference by successfully engaging with all staff, while remaining positive and flexible in challenging situations to fulfil the role of the FTSU Guardian.

The post is initially for 22.5 hours per week, with a view to increasing to full-time (37.5hrs) by October 2023.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be supported to operate independently, impartially and objectively, whilst working in partnership with individuals and groups throughout their organisation, including their senior leadership team.

They will seek guidance and support from and, where appropriate, escalate matters to, bodies outside their organisation

They will support, and contribute to, the national Freedom to Speak Up Guardian network, comply with National Guardian Office guidance, and support each other by providing peer-to-peer support and sharing learning

The post holder will be supported with the resources they need, including protected time, to ensure that they meet the needs of workers in their organisation. Their views on the impact of activities and decisions on Freedom to Speak Up should be actively sought.
