Job summary
Applications are invited for appointments to ST1 Level trust doctor in Emergency Medicine.

Main duties of the job
The role will include the initial assessment, investigation and management of patients attending the ED. You will be assigned to work in different areas of the department including Resus, Majors, Paediatrics and the ED Observation bay. You will also be responsible for arranging admissions and preparation of electronic discharge summaries as appropriate. Ensure that records of patients in your care are accurate, up to date and legible and signed.
Supervision will be provided at all times by either Consultants or Specialty Doctors in Emergency Medicine.
It is expected that you will attend the weekly departmental teaching sessions, as the rota allows and participate in the audit, governance and research activities of the department. We encourage all of our doctors to develop their portfolio whilst in our department and our former doctors have a high success rate in gaining formal training posts in Emergency Medicine.
The appointee will be expected to cover for absence of colleagues (including on call cover) at short notice, e.g. sickness.
