East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust

Critical Care Support Worker

The closing date is 30 May 2025

Job summary

The Critical Care unit is a specialist 8 bedded unit. We admit the most unwell patients from a variety of areas.

The ward is friendly, busy, exciting and rewarding and provides an excellent working experience. Our team is hardworking and committed to providing a high standard of care and this is reflected in our excellent Friends and Family feedback. The ward has a family atmosphere with good peer support and a great social network.

Main duties of the job

Primarily, we are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering excellent patient centred care and can be from any caring background or health care environment. We will aim to work with you to support and develop you to reach your full potential as a highly skilled and experienced vascular surgical health professional.

As a team we are committed to teaching, and work hard to provide a positive learning environment. We provide ward based study days for all grades with the subject matter being closely linked to both the needs of the ward and wishes of the multi-professional team.

About us

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference'. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.

Please be aware that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK, you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently hold a Certificate of Sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. As of 9th April, we can only sponsor candidates for a Skilled Worker Visa for band 3 roles if we can demonstrate that we were unsuccessful in recruiting a candidate who does not require a visa. Given this change, it is unlikely that we will be able to sponsor any candidates for a Skilled Worker Visa for this role.
