Job summary
The post holder will support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients.
Responsibility for leading the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
Main duties of the job
o Demonstrating safe, effective and person- centred leadership to patients and staff role modelling the Trust's mission and values.
o Leading safe patient care through surgical, pathways
o Work in conjunction with colleagues in, medicine and ED to embed safe transfers to ward/unit areas, 'getting it right first time' to enable early supported discharges
o Embed effective management of clinical and non-clinical risk reporting to the Manager within the Directorate Clinical Governance Framework.

To act on information from seniors to your ward area. To be responsive to complaints and ensure shared learning is undertaken. To focus on quality care completion of audits and using the data to make improvements.
To provide support and assistance to the Matron and Lead Nurse to provide a quality nursing service within your area, with forward thinking, autonomous nurses, managed within the financial and organisational envelope of East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust.
