Job summary
The Metastatic Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide direct and indirect support and advice to breast cancer patients and their families.
By working as a key member of the established team, the post-holder will deliver an expert, specialist service as a key worker and be specialized with the skills advice and support required for these patients.
It is a trust-wide post in East Kent working alongside another Metastatic Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Main duties of the job
Act as a key worker for metastatic breast cancer patients across the Trust as an expert practitioner, providing specialist advise, information, support and holistic care to patients and their families from the point of diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer, through treatment to end of life and involving teams as needed.
Attend a metastatic breast MDM, undertake clinics face to face and over the telephone, inpatient reviews and collaborating with the wider teams.
To communicate highly sensitive information i.e results of tests and investigations to patients in a clear and empathatic manner.
