Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experiencedPhysiotherapist with proven clinical skills to join our Paediatric team on Padua Ward or Rainbow ward. As a multi-disciplinaryteam, we are working hard to ensure we give babies, childrenand their families the best possible care; keeping their needsfirmly at the heart of everything we do. You would beresponsible, alongside the Band 7 physiotherapist, forproviding inpatient physiotherapy to a range of childrenincluding our Cystic Fibrosis population, respiratory,orthopaedic and neurological caseload. There will also be anopportunity to work within outpatient clinic settings.

Main duties of the job
- Provide day to day Paediatric Physiotherapy service based at either William Harvey or QEQM Hospital. Alongside the Band 7 Physiotherapist, plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service on a day-to-day basis on the ward.
- o Provide leadership to the Physiotherapy team within a team based structure as a specialist within the field of acute paediatric physiotherapy.
- o As an autonomous practitioner to carry out assessment and treatment of a specialist caseload of patients within Paediatrics who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnoses and physiotherapy treatment indicated, and to maintain records.
- o To provide specialist advice to other professionals both within the Trust and outside agencies e.g. GPs, carers.
- o To be responsible for teaching, supervision and appraisal of Junior Physiotherapists and undergraduate students to ensure a high quality of clinical care within the speciality.
- o To be jointly responsible for the on-going paediatric training to inpatient physiotherapy colleagues working the on-call rota.
- o To adhere to Trust policies and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Code of Conduct and be guided by National Standards where they exist to develop departmental policies.
