Job summary
The department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering is accredited to ISO 9001:2015. The department consists of two main sections of Clinical Engineering and Clinical Physics. The Kent and Medway Communication and Assistive Technology (KM CAT) service and Medical Devices Governance Team come under Clinical Engineering. Radiology Physics and Nuclear Medicine Physics are under Clinical Physics.
As a lead Health Care Scientist for Governance and Quality, you will have the overall responsibility for all quality and governance matters related to the department of Medical Physics.
Main duties of the job
Direct and lead the team in ensuring effective and efficient operation and ongoing registration and certification of the quality system within the department of Medical Physics.
Provide specialist knowledge so as to ensure the Trust's Medical Physics become progressively more effective in the delivery of quality Medical Physics services.
Be the responsible officer for all aspects of quality, standards and governance within the department
Secure compliance with internal policies and external bodies
Act as the responsible officer for provision of all departmental policies and procedures
Act as the risk manager for the department
Provide training in quality management
Professionally manage deputy quality manager and line manage quality and governance officer
To support the department in progressing quality improvement projects in engineering or physics projects depending on the background and experience of the candidate.

- Member of IPEM IEng registration, or chartered scientist or registered scientist A Higher degree, MSc or equivalent, in a relevant engineering or physics
Clinical Skills and Experience

- At least 5 years' experience as a quality systems manager or quality representative in the private or public sector
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a senior health care scientist.
