Job summary
Proactively co-ordinate patients through their treatment pathway ensuring a smooth process and compliance to National RTT compliance standard, diagnostic standards and any internal targets.
Act as first point of contact on behalf of the consultant and the Trust and deal effectively with all enquiries from GPs, patients, other departments within the Trust and external stakeholders, in line with Trust Values.
Main duties of the job
Effective management of the patient pathway, including booking follow up and cancelling appointments adhering to government standards. Escalate issues where necessary. Support the Operational Managers in achieving utilisation targets for outpatient clinics and timely recording of clinical outcomes.
Manage clinical dictations on digital dictation or voice recognition systems and administer as required. Transcribe consultant admin via audio. Draw the consultants/ doctor's attention to all incoming results, prioritising those which may require urgent clinical input.
Undertake other clerical duties to ensure the smooth running of the office, including sorting post, photocopying, scanning and uploading, sending and receiving emails, answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries, redirecting and relaying information as necessary.
