A vacancy has arisen for a Band 3 Medical Secretary in the Colorectal & General Surgery Department at the QEQM Hospital Margate.
We are seeking to recruit a highly organized individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service.
You will be required to undertake a wide range of admin and secretarial duties as well as coordinating the patient through their 18 week Pathway.
With a positive approach to customer care you will need to be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, IT, administration and secretarial skills and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Main duties of the job
The role involves working within a team of medical secretaries to provide a comprehensive administrative, clerical and audiotyping service to the clinical and managerial teams as well as acting as a point of liaison for patients, GPs, staff and outside agencies.
The postholder will be required to manage and monitor patients through their treatment pathways, ensuring compliance to cancer pathways and waiting time standards. Monitoring of diagnostics and booking follow up appointments, adhering to government standards. Escalate issues where necessary.
You must have excellent communication skills and possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy as well as an understanding of patient confidentiality.
