Job summary
The opportunity has arisen for a full time position as the Service Manager within Outpatient Services. The Service Manager will cover a variety of areas including Health Records, Reception and the Patient Service Centre
The post will cover the 3 acute sites as well as the subsidiary sites, supporting the Senior Management Team to deliver an exceptional Outpatient Service to the community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced leader with proven leadership skills and qualities to manage a large service across multiple sites.
Main duties of the job
- To maintain responsibility for the Service in your charge with an overview of the day to day and future planning for service improvements and transformational change.
- Responsible for the management and development and empowerment of the operational management team within the service.
- To ensure compliance with KPIs, national standards and legislation within the sites of the service.
- To ensure that the service has an appropriately skilled and effective workforce supported by competency frameworks and productivity measures appropriate to the area of work.
- Maintain overview and monitor management of staff within your service. Ensuring all staff within the service are meeting mandatory training in line with Trust guidelines.
- Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications with consultants, other medical staff, nurse colleagues, operational and managerial colleagues and other multi-agency professionals.
- To take responsibility for professional, policy and procedural processes to ensure best practice within the service.
- To develop excellent working relationships with the leads of Governance Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Managers to raise the profile and highlight the importance of governance across the service.
- Report, investigate and act upon complaints and adverse Incidents in line with Trust policies. Collate themes, identify and share learning points and changes to practice for the service.
