Job summary
The Directorate of Quality Governance, supports all areas within East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) to deliver high quality and safe services for our patients.
We are seeking a knowledgeable, skilled and motivated individual to join the team in the key corporate role of Risk Manager. The post holder will work collaboratively, supporting risk owners and leads across the organisation and provide assurance on the implementation of the Risk Management Strategy.
A Trust Wide Risk Review has recently been undertaken and the postholder will be involved in the continuous transformation and improvement of the culture of risk across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Risk Management Strategy for the Trust. This will include the development and maintenance of the Trust Risk Register in an advisory capacity in collaboration with the Care Group Triumvirates, Corporate Leads and Accountable Executives.

To lead the development and implementation of a robust Risk Management Framework working in collaboration with Executive and Care Group Triumvirates in order to further embed good practice at all levels and ensure the Trust's commitment to managing risk in a coordinated, systematic and transparent way is achieved.

The post holder will coordinate the development of risk management functions throughout the Trust in line with local, regional and national guidance and statutory requirements.

To lead on ensuring risk information systems align with the principles outlined in the Risk Management Strategy. This will involve liaising with the system provider to further develop the produce and reporting tools. This may involve the implementation of a new version and/or new system.

To oversee the Risk Review Group and lead on monthly escalation and assurance reporting to the Clinical Executive Management Group, Board Sub Committees and the Board of Directors.
