The appointment in Acute Medicine is also an opportunity to be the start of a compelling collaboration between Acute and Emergency care, developing and delivering transformation in acute medical care focused on Same Day Emergency Care and Rapid early assessment via the newly structured MAU. Main duties of the job
These posts are a key and pivotal part of on-going development of our Acute Physician led model. Post holders will be central in-service development and supported to help design an Acute Medicine service for the future.
They will contribute 8 PA (direct clinical care) to Acute Medicine and integrate with the existing GIM on call rota with an aim is to provide senior clinician presence on site from 9am-9pm, seven days a week, to allow a coherent and consistent approach to management of patients presenting as medical emergencies.
Post holders will take part in teaching, audit and governance across the Acute and Emergency care speciality and be encouraged to lead and develop greater future collaboration between departments.
