Job summary

We are currently looking for an Emergency General Consultant Surgeon with an interest in Upper GI surgery. This post has been created to add support to the current General Surgery department.

The successful candidate will join the Surgical Department at the QEQM Hospital and work within the team to support and enhance the already excellent department. The post holder will lead to a total of eleven consultant surgeons within the department.

About us

The Surgery and Anaesthetics Care Group runs General Surgical services in the 2 acute hospitals - the William Harvey Hospital (WHH) and Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM).

The Department has an active role in teaching undergraduate medical students on attachments from UCL, GKT and Imperial Medical Schools. We are involved in offering undergraduate teaching to the new Medical School, Kent & Medway Institute of Medicine, which has started in September 2020.
