These positions are based on Rainbow Ward at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital, Margate with rotation to Dolphin Ward at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury. All employees are expected to work across all trust sites to support the service as required.

Providing a great place to work and living our values are key to how we deliver patient care, therefore we would like to offer external new employees as part of your unconditional offer of employment a recruitment and retention package of £3000; the payment would be £1500 on starting and £1500 on the completion of 1 years' service.

Main duties of the job

Rainbow Ward is a general paediatric ward caring for both medical and surgical children. It has a highly skilled and supportive staff of paediatric nurses of all grades. We are proud of our robust Preceptorship programme for newly qualified paediatric nurses and the provision of on-going CPD provision designed especially for paediatric nurses. Rainbow also has a busy Children's Assessment Unit housed within the ward - all staff rotate through this area gaining experience in triage and assessment skills.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our new team who have some previous experience of working in the speciality, but we also encourage applications from newly qualified nurses or those from other health care environments and will support and develop you to reach your full potential as a highly skilled and experienced nurse.

About us

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people.

Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference'.

We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
