Job summary
The post holder will be an integral member of the Diabetic In-Patient Nurse Specialist team, with a specific focus on inpatient diabetes care. The post holder will work in partnership with people with diabetes, their families / carers and other professionals to promote consistent evidence-based care for people with diabetes throughout their in-patient stay. Through effective clinical leadership and highly specialised knowledge of diabetes management the post holder will facilitate an improvement in the quality of care for inpatients whilst supporting staff to deliver high quality diabetes management, thus increasing patient safety, reducing bed occupancy, and working towards reducing unnecessary re-admissions to hospital.
