Job summary
We are seeking a new Physician Associate to be part of our east kent neuro- rehabilitation unit at the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust to work alongside medical, nursing and AHP colleagues in the East kent Neuro-rehabilitation unit . You will have the full support of a consultant led team, delivering care and developing your own skills and career within the relevant specialty area.
These are new and exciting Band 7 posts created to support and develop our clinical services and enhance our department, so we are looking for enthusiastic and skilled PAs to join our multidisciplinary workforce. You will be supported to develop procedural skills as well.
These posts are advertised for qualified and registered PAs although those awaiting exam results also welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities:
Patient care
With appropriate supervision, the post holder will be involved in the initial assessment including:
- Undertaking patient consultations, assessments and clinical examinations
- Initiating and ordering appropriate investigations
- Interpreting investigative, laboratory, imaging and diagnostic tests
- Recommending appropriate patient management and treatment plans
- Presenting patient data and plans to the consultant and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Taking responsibility for an appropriate dedicated patient caseload
Within your scope of practice (subject to appropriate training and experience) develop competencies to:
- Assist in clinical procedures (Bronchoscopies/EBUS)
- Perform delegated diagnostic or therapeutic procedures (Pleural)
As part of a multi-disciplinary team:
- Support the delivery of care in a range of settings, including emergency assessment, inpatient wards and outpatient clinics and assist in the efficient delivery of the Lung Cancer pathway
- Support and contribute to timely discharge planning where appropriate
To undertake any other duties deemed appropriate to the band when requested by senior staff.
