We are searching for an outstanding and committed nurse leader to join the General & specialist medicine care group to lead our new enhanced care team.
The General & Specialist Medicine Care Group covers specialties including Health Care of the Older Person, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Respiratory, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Stroke, Gastroenterology, Neurosciences and Renal services to name a few.
As the Enhanced Care Team Leader you will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to a team of Enhanced Cares who will work across the three inpatient hospital sites at East Kent Hospital.
The General and Specialist Care Group is committed to supporting you and your development with a team of Clinical Educators in place to guide and support you.
The Care Group has also held some very successful cultural workshops because supporting the well-being of our staff and celebrating good practice is incredibly important to us.

Main duties of the job
- To undertake a range of management responsibilities, including but not limited to: recruitment and selection processes, performance management, appraisal, sickness/absence management and staff development.
- To work in partnership with the consultant and dementia clinical lead and ensure that expert leadership is demonstrated which meets the holistic health needs of older adults within an acute general hospital setting.
- To assist and support the registered nurses (or other healthcare practitioners) in providing high quality patient care through the delivery of enhanced care for patients.
- Be an effective part of the multi-disciplinary team contributing to the Care Group objectives.
- Continue to develop and maintain competencies in nursing tasks to maintain high quality safe care.
- To ensure that the voices of patients and their families/carers are listened to and suggestions for changes to practice are respected and where necessary, escalated to senior decision makers within the organisation, thereby embedding a you said, we did ethos within the team.
- To provide high visibility and leadership, driving forward team development by demonstrating an exemplar of expert practice, thereby energising and motivating staff to continually deliver person centred care of the highest quality.
