Job summary

Clinical Scientist Kent and Medway Adult Communication and Assistive Technology (KM CAT) service (Adult Team)

Are you looking for a specialist post in a friendly, dynamic team with excellent professional leadership?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Scientist with an Engineering background and excellent clinical and team working skills to work with. This is to provide a multidisciplinary Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) service in Kent and Medway. The caseload is primarily adults with complex disabilities who have communication difficulties.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information or wish to arrange an informal visit.

Main duties of the job

You will be working closely with other Healthcare Scientists and highly specialist therapists in our specialised multidisciplinary team. You will hold a clinical caseload, taking a lead role where appropriate, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to enable the KMCAT Adult Team to assess and support adults with the most complex needs.

We will organise for clinics to take place at our site where possible. You are however expected to travel within Kent and Medway when it is not possible for the client to attend clinic appointments due to their complex health issues.

You will also act as the deputy to the head of Adult KMCAT, taking a delegated lead role in some of the day-to-day management of the service, as well as exciting projects and service developments.

You will be managing a Clinical Scientist, who is based at another site with the Childrens KMCAT team.
