Job summary
We are looking to recruit a senior, full-stack web developer to our growing Application Development team in Canterbury. This is a new role in a new and ambitious team, seeking to provide robust and innovative digital services to patients and staff, and to bring software development in-house wherever we can.
As a senior engineer you will be expected to be self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong awareness of development best practices. You will play a key role in defining application architecture, writing high-quality code and mentoring junior colleagues.
This role is based in Canterbury with scope flexible and/or remote working.
Main duties of the job
You will work on a wide variety of projects using open-source technologies, primarily Laravel. You must have experience of modern object-oriented PHP, HTML/CSS and JavaScript. Experience with Agile, CI/CD, TDD and/or mobile application development is a plus.
Upcoming projects include developing patient-facing web applications, APIs and mobile applications, building tools to assist clinicians and the redesign/redevelopment of the portfolio of Trust websites.
The successful candidate will have a love for learning and new technology. You should have a knack for problem solving and critical thinking, with knowledge of architecting solutions and breaking business requirements into achievable technical tasks.
