Job summary
Band 6 MRI Radiographer
Due to the expansion of the MRI services at both Epsom and St Helier hospitals, vacancies have arisen for Band 6 MRI Radiographers.
The posts offer the opportunity for highly motivated and knowledgeable Radiographers, with MRI experience to develop their imaging and teaching skills in an expanding team and department.
The Trust has four 1.5T MRI scanners this includes GE Artist and Explorer. We perform a range of examinations including, angiography, orthopaedic, oncology, neuro and paediatrics.
A New Siemens Sola will be installed with cardiac capability in October 2025.
Our service operates a 7 day extended 8-8 shift pattern. A flexible approach to work, with the ability to work contracted hours across 7 days per week is required.
The role will include supporting the junior staff and contributing to the training of students, as well as resolving day to day issues related to workload management and patient queries.
Applicants must hold a BSc honours in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers and be HCPC registered.

To be able to perform a wide range of MRI examinations of all body areas as required, producing high quality diagnostic images. Experience and a broad knowledge of MRI examinations and Safety is essential
To manage patient priority as appropriate whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care, respect for dignity and privacy.
To work both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of the MRI team to provide a comprehensive and effective service in relation to the responsibilities of a senior radiographer.
Training will be given to enable the post holder to justify routine MRI examinations.
To provide guidance and support to junior members of staff as well as patients and other health care professionals.
To assist in ensuring the MRI service meets all waiting time targets and responds to the future needs of the organisation by participating in the extended 7 days of working.
In the future, this will involve new developments around extended MRI service provision.
You may be asked to work at either Epsom or St Helier hospital sites as required by theservice
