This is an exciting opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic individual to join the Cardiology Team at Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, based at Epsom Hospital. We are delighted to offer a substantive opportunity for a Specialty Doctor (SAS ) to join our growing Cardiology service.

This post is integral to meet our expanding Departmental and service needs. You will join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward-looking Cardiology Service.

This post is ideal for candidates wishing to practice in Cardiology at a recognised high-quality training centre. This post could be an excellent "stepping stone" to a higher specialist trainee or experience middle grade level practitioner in Cardiology as the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of procedures and investigations in these specialties.

Main duties of the job

The post gives excellent experience within cardiology and would be ideal for those considering this specialty as a long term career at Associate Specialist / Senior Trust Grade level or as a stepping stone to move to a substantive training post. The successful applicant will gain experience in the assessment and management of a wide case mix of acute and chronic cardiac conditions with opportunities in the cardiology Dept to acquire skills and knowledge in investigations & procedures such as echo, stress echo, TOE, cardiac MRI, Tilt testing, angiogram, pacemaker, heart failure / valve clinic / arrhythmia clinic / RACPC, JCC heart team MDT, as well as general cardiology clinics, etc. The Service is also expanding the current Cath Lab provision which will provide training and development opportunities for Cardiology procedures, including Angiography, Pacing and PCI.
