Job summary
You will be responsible for leading a team of experienced Midwives and Midwifery Support Workers in delivering community services to the 3900 birthing people a year who chose to have their baby at Epsom and St Helier, as well as approximately 2700 families who receive community postnatal care with us.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and a drive to promote excellence within community midwifery services, whilst ensuring local and national standards and recommendations are met. Epsom and St Helier also have an established Home Birth Team which also sits within Community Services.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a knowledgeable and skilled Midwife to lead our team of experienced community midwives and support workers.
You will need to be able to demonstrate wide midwifery experience as well as proven leadership skills.
The post holder will work as part of the MDT in providing excellent, patient centred care, as well as ensuring midwifery services are integral in the wider community healthcare provision.
You will be instrumental in the maintenance and continued development of relationships with external stakeholders such as Primary care, Mental Health and Health Visiting services. Leading community midwifery in meeting both local and national drivers .
Working with the wider midwifery management team, you will drive the service forward to be responsive to the needs of a diverse population. This includes the delivery of Home Birth Services and a commitment to promote Midwifery Continuity of Carer.
The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the Midwifery Manager on Call Rota
