Job summary
We are delighted to announce two clinical teaching fellow posts in general surgery. This is a unique opportunity to not only develop your skills and experience in clinical teaching and educational research, but to also increase your technical skills and surgical experience in theatre. This post is ideally suited to a candidate wishing to complete an FY3 or CT3 style post.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will take part on the SHO general surgical on call rota. They will have 1 day per week as dedicated time for teaching fellow activities, and 4 days working as part of the general surgical team. The post will fully fund a Royal College of Surgeons PGCert in Surgery, which should be completed by the end of the year. The candidate will also be responsible for post graduate teaching of FYs, SHOs and help to organise FRCS directed teaching. Surgical training and theatre experience can be modified to the skill set of the individual candidate, to ensure that they get the most out of the post.
