Senior Employee Relations Manager Band 8a
We are looking for a HR professional with significant employee relations experience to join the Epsom and St Helier University Hospital Trust team.
The Senior ER Manager will work closely with the Head of Employee Relations to provide specialist employee relations, resolution and HR administration services to managers and staff across the Trust. The role will require working closely with managers and management teams to improve the standard of ER practice, ensuring that the best method is developed.
A vital function of the role will be to lead the review, development and implementation of best practice systems and processes to support a consistent, robust and excellent Employee Relations and HR Administration service. The postholder will develop long-term, value-added Employee Relations processes and practices designed to enable cases to be managed in line with best practices and legal guidelines.
The role will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Employee Relations Team, including providing support and guidance on ER matters and identifying new ways of working. The post holder will also deputise for the Head of Employee Relations.

The role will support the development of the skills and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently. The post holder will drive the delivery of an early resolution approach in delivering advice to managers to build confidence in dealing with complex people-management issues.
The post holder will be responsible for complex employee relations casework and will provide advice and support to line managers on a range of ER issues including, but not limited to, discipline, grievance management, poor performance and attendance and workplace dispute management.
This role requires confidence in dealing with managers and staff at all levels, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coach and influence key stakeholders.
In terms of qualifications and experience, you will have significant experience in a senior ER/HR Advisory role and hold a CIPD qualification, with a passion and willingness to undertake further development.
