Private Patients Administrator Band 3
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Epsom Hospitals within the Private Patients ward. The Administrator based role will be on the Northey ward at Epsom Hospital which includes covering admin for all Private Patients at Epsom and St Helier Hospital.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and to prioritise/organise their own workload.
The job will be predominantly based at Epsom Hospital.
Based in a specialty clinical team, the post holder will support all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients' pathway of care, reception, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge. As well as communicating with our Insurance companies for private patients cover and information regarding their appointments.

- Assist the Private Patient administration Supervisor with tasks associated with the admission and discharge of private patients.
- Liaise with Consultants and their Medical Secretaries to ensure that any potential referred patients have been managed effectively and that the potential for their admission is fulfilled wherever possible.
- On request from a Consultant or Medical Secretary establish the availability of accommodation and theatre space. When this has been confirmed, communicate the availability to the Consultant and Medical Secretary. Liaise with the latter to establish direct or vicarious contact with the patient.
- Update the inpatient and outpatient booking systems as required (including scheduling theatre procedures).
- Send patients a PP Pack prior to admission.
- Liaise with insurers to ensure that the patient's admission has been pre-authorised.
- Maintain the inpatient and outpatient diary to track all current and future patients.
- Create and update administrative files on private patients to include copies of letters sent to the patient, undertaking to pay forms and any other contractual/financial information.
- Assist the Credit Controller with tasks associated with private patient billing.
