By providing helpful information, advice and guidance to individuals, managers & employers this post will play a key role in helping people with disabilities in finding, securing and keeping employment within NHS organisations in the South West London (SWL) sector.
Purpose of the Post
The Workforce DAL Adviser will work across SWL: SWL Recruitment Hub, staff, manager and stakeholders via the DAL service channels. The Workforce Adviser will provide advice using the Disability Advice Line (DAL) telephone service, webchats, text and emails. This role will also provide support to internal staff and managers within the SWL sector.
Main duties of the job
o Respond to enquiries received via the DAL telephone, webchat and email services.o Provide empathy and validation,o Offer signposting informationo Provide tailored advice and guidance to enquirer. Where appropriate offer a call back with a key person (recruiting manager, HR, EDI,) in line with callback criteria.o Provide day to day support and assistance to staff and managerso Provide confidential advice to colleagues with a disability or long- term medical conditiono Adopt a 'business as usual' approach to managing disability and long-term conditions. o Identify and remove barriers in all areas of employment such as recruitment, workplace adjustments and staff developmento Understand organisational performance and employee needs with respect to reasonable adjustmentso Develop and maintaining a barrier-free employment experience for existing and future staff who identify as having a disability
